Which technical data do you need to receive to make a quotation of a complete packaging line?

The data we require are the following:

  • Product and its characteristics
  • Container types and sizes (with drawings, if available)
  • Cap types and sizes (with drawings, if available)
  • Production speed
  • Pasteurising cycle required
  • Pallet dimensions
  • Type of labels
  • Type of secondary package (carton, shrinkwrap pack etc.)
  • Space available in the factory (layout if available)
  • Any particular requirements (i.e. special voltage, special components etc.)


How do you define the type of filling most suitable to handle my product?

In order to determine the type of filling which is most suitable we consider:

  • The caharacteristics of products (density, appearance, presence of particles, viscosity etc.)
  • The type of containers
  • The production speeds
  • Available space limitations, if any

Our Technical Dept. takes all these data into considerations and determines the model of filler most suitable for the case.


What is the WIP system?

The WIP washing system (Washing In Place) is an automatic system to clean the inner parts of the filler by pumping suitable detergent and disinfectant solutions.


Is it possible to fill foamy products?

Yes, it is possible with bottom-up filling system


Which materials are used for the contact parts with products on your fillers?

The parts in contact with product are made of Aisi 316 stainless steel or other special material suitable for the food industry.


Is it possible to store parameters and recipes to make adjustment and product/format change-over faster?

Yes, it is possible. Our fillers are controlled by PLC with touch-screen interface: after setting the recipes, the operator just needs to recall the program to fill the relevant container size.


Which minimum and maximum speeds can achieve UG capping machines?

YThe range consists of 3 models with speeds from 3000 to 48000 cph (calculated with caps type Ø 38mm RTO).


Which cap types can be handled?

UG capping machines can cap jars and/or bottles with metal caps type Regular , Medium , Deep Twist-off, Pry-Twist, Pry-Off.


Can UG capping machines be combined with existing cap feeders of other brands?

Yes, it is possible


When was Unimac-Gherri established?

UNIMAC-GHERRI was established in 2008 from the merging of two important Companies, which had already been active in the packaging fiels for ages: UNIMAC, manufacturer of automatic and semiautomatic palletisers and depalletisers, and GHERRI GINO, manufacturer of fillers, capping machines, cleaning machines. In January 1st, 2010 the production facilities, the offices and the general direction were moved and centralised in Montecchio Emilia, in a renovated and enlarged building. The merging of the two Companies was part of a clear strategy, i.e. to extend the production range, provide complete packaging lines and consolidate the presence on the worldwide markets by a synergic exploitation of distributing channels.
